ACT Netconferences
No time to read through reams of publications? Prefer to hear about the project? Unable to afford the time to travel to as many workshops and conferences for you as you should? Managers - are you tired of making tradeoffs between continual improvement of staff's knowledge and skills and the cost of travel in terms of time out of the office and money? Our netconferencing initiative provides a cost-effective (and trip reducing) alternative. ACT and the NCTR National TDM and Telework Clearinghouse (http://www.nctr.usf.edu/clearinghouse) at the University of South Florida use net conferencing as a means for delivering information to the busy transportation professional at his or her computer at their desk in real-time and on-demand.

Publications
TDM Review is the nation's first magazine devoted exclusively to transportation demand management. Published by the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), TDM Review is distributed to its members as well as to many industry contacts.
TMA Handbook: A Guide to Successful Transportation Management Associations shows you how to start and maintain a TMA that will thrive, not just survive. This expanded handbook (over 200 pages) offers the comprehensive information needed at various stages in a TMA's life cycle. It provides practical "how-to" guidance for studying the feasibility of forming a TMA in certain localities, and gives newly formed TMAs tips and examples to define the organizational structure, establish an office, and get operations off the ground. For those who are currently operating TMAs, this handbook offers tips on enhancing success, expanding membership and services, and planning for the future. It also includes many excellent case studies and sample documents (such as job descriptions, by-laws, dues structures, action plans, etc.), as well as the results of the most recent TMA Survey conducted by ACT. The TMA Handbook also lists TMA-related resources available for more assistance and information.
