AT-A-Glance: ACT International Conference, August 29-September 1, 2010
The Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) International Conference heads to the west coast in 2010, arriving in Indian Wells, Calif. You.ll want to join your transportation demand management colleagues and attend the intensive professional development training sessions, special sessions and our vendors featured in our Exhibit Hall and participate in the special TMA Summit conference. The entire conference is held at the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel that offers excellent conference rates and premier amenities.
We were reminded yesterday that there remains a possibility that Congress may act on important transportation legislation in the post election, "lame duck" session of Congress. This possibility means that ACT and it's members may have an unexpected opportunity to be heard on legislation that affects all of us. We know that this reauthorization is needed to help us recover from the many less than positive situations created by the current economic climate.
Your input and help is invaluable for not just ACT's success but your own---and to those people we're trying to help in the special place you call home. We must approach this opportunity with strength and a new sense of value.
If we were not already holding a national meeting---we'd be considering holding one to discuss our hopes and aspirations. But---since we plan to meet next month----we have new and important reasons for all of us to be there. We believe it's important for you to be with us as we plan our effort to move forward. Together we have one unexpected opportunity to "seize" the day.
As part of our effort to make it easier for you to join us we are continuing our early conference discount. We've also made new local transportation options available to help you keep your costs lower---especially on the hotel side. Our conferences are an "investment" none so much as this one. We need your ideas and your voice----now is the time to come together not just for ACT but for those you represent.
