DOT Announces Policy Shift Regarding New Starts Program


During the President's Lunch at the Transportation Research Board, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood proposed that new funding guidelines for major transit projects be based on livability issues such as economic development opportunities and environmental benefits, in addition to cost and time saved, which are currently the primary criteria.



FTA Announces Funding Availability for Livability Projects


On Monday, Dec. 1, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood announced the availability of $280 million for urban circulator projects such as streetcars, buses, and bus facilities to support communities, expand business opportunities and improve people's quality of life while also creating jobs.


ACT Legislative Summit
