Our field—TDM—is ever-changing. Governmental agencies are developing improved rules & standards; innovators are launching new solutions; academics unveil new research; and a global pandemic is changing the motivations & expectations of commuters. So, you read up, ask questions, attend webinars, pivoted your programs and strategies while also doing your job. Now there’s a way to prove you are on top of your game: becoming TDM certified by taking the TDM-CP Exam, now offered July 21st through August 22nd.
“I decided to take the TDM-CP exam because passing would reflect that an independent source assessing me as proficient in my craft,” said longtime ACT member TomHarrington, TDM-CP. “The certification is important to me because it’s a validation of my experience and learnings in the Transportation Demand Management role.”
If you are considering TDM-CP, we recommend using a few key resources to prepare for the exam including a candidate handbook, an informal study-group, and a series of growing webinars. “I have a pretty great opportunity to work on TDM projects from coast to coast, so earning those five letters after my name helps showcase my experience and knowledge of TDM regulations, strategies, and evaluations,” said Adrienne Boyd, TDM-CP. “Preparing myself for the exam was just as valuable. I especially appreciated being part of last year’s study group, it was wonderful to connect with peers from across the continent.”
To best serve our diverse industry membership, the TDM-CP exam is now offered in partnership with Prolydian, a leading virtual credential platform, and remote proctoring by Examity. That means you take the exam from your computer in the comfort of your home office, your worksite office, or another appropriate space. There is also a special opportunity to sit in-person for the TDM-CP exam at the 35th Annual International Conference on Sunday, August 1st from 1:00pm - 4:00pm ET.
“The TDM-CP program was a great motivation to polish my knowledge base across a broad range of industry topics,” says Chris Bongorno, TDM-CP. “Having achieved certification, I can now confidently tell my colleagues and clients that I have the TDM expertise they're looking for to address the access and mobility issues that they face.”
