As I begin my final year as President, I am thinking about the last three years and reflecting on the journey we have had together. When I took office in 2019, who knew we would be getting on this wild ride! But through it all, our community has stood together, supporting each other, and stepping up to keep moving forward despite the challenges. We have spent a lot of time together over the last few years, mostly virtually of course, but we have made the most of that time and I am grateful we had those opportunities to connect.
We accomplished quite a bit last year and have even bigger goals for 2022. I’m excited to share that a new Technology & Innovation Council has been approved and you can now select to join the council in your member profile. ACT will continue to further TDM learning by hosting insightful webinars & virtual discussions, welcoming more TDM-CPs, and keeping the conversation flowing on Connect. After several policy achievements in 2021, we are also continuing to work on including TDM definitions and strategies within federal transportation policy and the Policy Committee is starting this year by focusing on implementation of the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA), which was signed into law at the end of the year. Mostly, I am looking forward to more in-person meetings, including the Future of Commuting Summit in Pittsburgh this April, the 36th Annual International Conference in Chicago this August, and the TDM Forum will finally be held in Atlanta this November. I hope to meet many of you there!
In my last New Year’s letter, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for your commitment to TDM, to ACT, and for continuing to show up and participate in building a better journey for everyone.
