The premier organization for TDM professionals

When Disaster Strikes! Integrating TDM into Emergency Preparedness - June 2018

In recent years, we have seen intense weather and natural disasters bring entire regions to a standstill. It is now imperative that all communities and organizations have emergency response plans that not only incorporate how you will safely evacuate your residents and employees, but also how you will get them back to work after the event. Transportation Demand Management should play a key role in these efforts and TDM professionals should be prepared to lead their development.

Hear from two presenters on how they are preparing for future emergencies and the challenges and missed opportunities they’ve faced while working through a disaster and what a new plan should look like moving forward. Lisa Jemison will discuss her role in working with the Department of Homeland Security to test and better prepare organizations and campuses for an emergency response while ensuring the right evacuation plans are in place. Dezra Nauls will share his experience of Hurricane Harvey and the new plans they’ve implemented in the aftermath.
