View Webinar

Recently the Transit Cooperative Research Program released a Guidebook (TCRP Report 192) on Planning and Managing a Park-and-Ride Facility. The guidebook provides transit agencies with a resource to better plan and manage park-and-ride facilities for public transportation by incorporating improved strategies and best practices. This webinar will provide an introduction to the guidebook content and how to utilize it. Sections of the guidebook that will be part of the webinar include: Strategic Planning for Park-and-Ride; Financial Planning for Park-and-Ride; Operating Park-and-Ride; Charging for Parking; and Park-and-Ride and the Community.

By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:

  • Know how to use the TCRP Report 192 as a resource to better plan and manage park-and-ride facilities.
  • Explain why transit agencies provide park-and-ride, and describe different approaches to developing and operating a park-and-ride.
  • List key considerations (pro and con) when deciding whether to charge for parking at a park-and-ride facility.
  • Identify the potential community impacts of park-and-rides and discuss how to engage the community as a good neighbor.
