Sunday, August 4 from 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Spend Sunday exploring beautiful Boulder, renowned for its magnificent mountain backdrop, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and some of the nation’s most innovative approaches to sustainable recreation access. Travel to Boulder by bus and meet up with your tour guides Darcy Kitching, author of The Best Urban Hikes: Boulder, and Elaine Erb, sustainable transportation planner with Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections. After taking the Flatiron Flyer to Boulder, we’ll catch the free Park-to-Park Shuttle to Chautauqua Park, learning about Boulder County’s recreation access shuttle system during the ride. At Chautauqua, we’ll discuss the city of Boulder’s recent parking reform to help reduce single-occupant vehicle trips to the park, followed by a short ranger talk and an invigorating 3.5-mile hike. After our hike, we’ll enjoy lunch together at the Chautauqua Dining Hall before riding back downtown on the Park-to-Park shuttle and heading back to Denver.
