2026-2027 Board Spotlight: Jesse Kafka

Member Spotlights,

Jesse Kafka is a Mid-Atlantic Chapter member, a Product Manager for rideshare products at TripSpark, and an incoming 2026-2027 At-Large Director on ACT's Board. Get to know Jesse in our November board spotlight!

With nearly two decades of industry experience, Jesse has built a career spanning many corners of the TDM world. His work with VPSI, vRide, and Commute with Enterprise allowed him to support vanpool programs throughout the Northeastern US and launch hundreds of new vanpool groups serving worksites to 12 different states. Over the years, he has taken on diverse positions from Marketing & Outreach Coordinator to Business Development Executive and Contract Compliance Manager. In 2019, he brought his talents to TripSpark in 2019, first working as a Solutions Consultant and then joining the Product Management team in 2022.

Jesse’s passion for TDM began early. His first role, supporting major transportation projects throughout New Jersey, was a formative experience that sparked his dedication to helping communities move better together.

He says, "During this time, I saw the potential impacts (positive or negative) of transportation and infrastructure projects on the lives of people from all walks of life, but particularly in vulnerable communities...I found the concept of making better use of the infrastructure we have, instead of "solving" every challenge with more pavement, as the way forward."

Whether it be service in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter, the Vanpool Council, or the Professional Development Committee, Jesse is no stranger to leadership roles in ACT. He first attended the International Conference in 2008 and has been a very active member since 2011.

Throughout his time in ACT, connections with others and improving their lives have been strong motivators. He says, "It's all about people. Both the professional heroes working directly in TDM, as well as the everyday heroes trying to get to work or around town in ways that reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips. ACT has presented me with the opportunity to meet and build relationships with many friends and colleagues."

Outside of work, Jesse enjoys engaging with his community and “dadding.” He supervises set construction for a local youth theater program, coaches a LEGO Robotics team, and volunteers in the kids' program of his church. A proud yet 'perpetually hopeful' Philadelphia sports fan, he continues to cheer on his teams through every season.

As a member of ACT's Board, Jesse is eager to serve as a champion for the industry. He is excited to amplify the voice of TDM, strengthen the network of professionals who help it thrive, and advance the policies that move the field forward.

Congratulations, Jesse, on your upcoming leadership term. Please join us in welcoming Jesse to the 2026-2027 Board of Directors!
