Rethink Smart Cities With ACT's Book Club

General News,

Ready to make smart city technology work for you?

Transportation technology is advancing faster than ever and offering smarter streets, seamless travel, and data-driven decision making. As cities invest in new digital tools and smart mobility solutions, a critical question remains: are these innovations actually making it easier, safer, and more equitable for people to get where they need to go?

Join us on Wednesday, February 4 at 2 p.m. ET for a book club conversation inspired by The Smart Enough City, led by guest speaker Ruth Miller of Jawnt. Together, we’ll explore how TDM professionals can thoughtfully navigate the promise and pitfalls of smart city technology. This session will focus on using technology responsibly, ethically, and in ways that build public trust.

If you're assessing new mobility platforms, shaping policy around emerging tools, or working with emerging innovations, this session will help you think more critically and confidently about technology’s role in transportation. Join the conversation and bring your perspective.

The book is available to download for free from MIT!
