Organization Overview
Ecov is a mobility operator that helps public agencies turn private cars into shared, reliable everyday transit.
We design, deploy, and operate **express carpooling lines,** an operated version of US “slug lines”, that let commuters match with drivers in real time at designated stops, without advance booking.
Our services focus on **high-demand commuting corridors** where thousands of vehicles travel every day, typically connecting suburban or exurban origins to major urban job centers.
By structuring these flows into regulated carpooling lines, we turn existing traffic into a high-frequency shared mobility service.
Beyond software, we deliver a **phygital platform** that combines digital tools with physical assets: branded pooling stops, connection stations at park-and-ride lots, and integration with HOV / managed lanes.
The goal is to sweat existing road assets, boost vehicle occupancy, and provide faster, more reliable trips without building new highway capacity. We structure our work as regulated services, making carpooling and shared rides as predictable and accountable as a bus line, with clear performance metrics and service levels.
Over the past decade, we have partnered with regional and local authorities in France, to deploy more than fifty carpooling lines and conduct over one hundred studies, experience we now bring to US corridors facing similar congestion and access challenges.
