LEIGH ANDERSON AWARDED THE EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP AWARD BY ACT

General News,
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Leigh Anderson, Transportation Demand Management Planner at GWRideConnect, was awarded the President’s Extraordinary Leadership Award at the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) National Awards Ceremony during the 35th Annual International Conference on August 4, 2021 at Walt Disney World Resorts. Selected by ACT President Connie McGee the Extraordinary Leadership Award recognizes a member who has made significant contributions to the Association through leadership and engagement in ACT’s Board, chapters, councils, and committees.

“Leigh joined ACT in 1992 and has been active in the Chesapeake chapter and has been a steady committee member of the finance committee,” said Connie McGee, ACT President. “She was the first to recognize the need and suggest a study group for the inaugural TDM-CP exam last year. By the end of that first session, there were 14 members in the newly formed study group.”

“Leigh established a line of communication with the Certification Board of Trustees (CBOT) which has proven beneficial to both groups, as the CBOT is now looking to this study group to help revise their suggested study materials. The group quickly grew to over 65 members while the testing window was open. The group continues to help anyone who wants to join,” continued Connie. “I am honored to present her the 2021 President’s Extraordinary Leadership Award.”
