Committee service offers members a unique opportunity to explore a specific issue or topic critical to the organization’s success. It’s also a powerful form of professional development that allows you to collaborate with TDM professionals from across the country with diverse backgrounds.

Board Committees and Roles 

Accreditation Committee: Oversees the management, standards, structure, and processes related to the development and implementation of ACT's TDM-AO Program.


ACT PAC: Established to support and elect candidates for federal office, supportive of the use of Transportation Demand Management strategies that create an efficient, multi-modal transportation system that moves all people.


Belonging & Engagement Committee: Charged with identifying the needs, training, and support for ACT members to ensure that the Association continually improves equity and supports a culture of respect within its membership.


Events Oversight: Charged with overseeing the organization’s events to ensure they are meeting established goals and objectives. The Committee will provide recommendations to the Board on the use of events to achieve the organization’s strategic mission.


Finance Committee: Charged with providing insight and recommendations to the Board to assure that the Association is financially sound. The Committee reviews financial processes and makes recommendations to the Board regarding ACT's long-term financial goals and annual budget.


Governance Committee: Charged with reviewing and enhancing the effectiveness of the ACT Board of Directors, facilitating the Board’s continued development, and adherence to the bylaws of the Association.


Membership Committee: Charged with recruitment and retention of members, ensuring sustained growth in all sectors of TDM. The Committee will assist with regular assessments of membership satisfaction and involvement in chapter and council activities and identify and develop membership benefits.


Parliamentarian: Serves as a non-voting Board member, advising on parliamentary procedures, assisting with motions, bylaws, policies, training, and elections, and supporting the Board President and Executive Director in governance matters.


Professional Development Committee: To assist in identifying the training, education, and mentoring needs of the membership with a goal of advancing member knowledge of TDM and personal professional growth.


Public Policy Committee: Charged with helping set the content of ACT’s policy agenda. The Committee will create a venue for hearing, discussing, and formulating recommendations on policy positions and will work to inform and engage ACT members on the advancement of ACT’s policy agenda.
