Accredited TDM Organizations
Please find some frequently asked questions about Accredited TDM Organizations (TDM-AOs) below
The cost is $900 and accreditation will last for three years. $100 is due upon application, which provides access to the portal. The next $800 is due before the organization becomes officially accredited.
ACT has a dedicated committee for accreditation whose members will review and vote on applications. You can learn more about the committee and its members on this webpage.
It is not a requirement. However, the number of staff members who are TDM-CPs is an aspect of "Contribution to the Profession," which is outlined in section B of the requirements. Further details about requirements can be found here.
Accreditation is achieved on a rolling basis. There is no set deadlines for when you can begin, though you must submit required documents within a year of gaining access to the portal.
Please be sure to review the requirements as some are time-sensitive.
In addition to support from ACT staff and the Accreditation Committee, you will have access to mentorship from TDM-AOs once your $100 fee is submitted. Staff is happy to address questions and connect you with others who have become accredited for advice
Government, public, and academic institutions are eligible including City/State DOTs, transit agencies, colleges and universities, TMAs, MPOs, COGs, and others. At this time, consultants and private employers are not eligible.
Once you apply, ACT staff will verify that you have submitted all replies for all the requirements. Then, the assigned committee members will review to confirm that responses meet the expected standards.
If not, ACT staff will notify the applicant of the reviewers' concerns and work with them to make adjustments and re-submit. The intent is to work with all applicants to get them accredited.
In some cases, the applicant may need to create new documents. If there is a viable reason for them to not have them or need them, this rationale should be documented in writing and submitted as part of the application. The committee will review for responsiveness.
