Professional Bio

Ian is a sustainability and business development executive with more than 25 years of experience winning and managing dozens of major contracts and hundreds of tasks for federal/state/local government, nonprofit, corporate, and institutional clients in the areas of transportation decarbonization and climate change action and resilience. His areas of expertise include TDM, decarbonization of the transportation sector, climate action and adaptation strategies, diesel emissions reduction strategies, and stakeholder engagement and outreach.

Throughout his consulting career, he has built successful transportation and climate business practices
by winning and executing projects for NYSERDA, MassDEP, TRB, EPA’ OTAQ, and many other agencies. He has led multiple teams to deliver hundreds projects and tasks. Ian’s honed project management skills have earned him a strong reputation for technical excellence, efficiency, intelligence, and kindness.

For more than 20 years, Ian has contributed thought leadership, chaired panels, and spoken at theAssociation for Commuter Transportation, Transportation Research Board, and National Clean Air
Conference on such topics as transportation and climate change, effective communications practices,
and the importance of strategic planning. He is among the first in the nation to be certified as a
transportation demand management professional (TDM-CP) and has shaped and implemented several
high profile national and state transportation voluntary and funding programs, including EPA’s
BestWorkplaces for Commuters, Clean School Bus program, SmartWay Transport Partnership, National Clean Diesel Campaign, and DERA grant program and New York State’s Clean Transportation Prize.
