Executive Director's Report March 2026

General News,

As we move into spring, many of us are navigating a mix of renewed energy, evolving priorities, and a rapidly changing national and international landscape. Across the association, conversations about efficiency, resilience, and smarter use of resources continue to take center stage, making ACT’s mission and membership more relevant than ever. Thank you for the leadership, engagement, and thoughtfulness you bring to this work as we look ahead together. The relationships built through ACT—across chapters, councils, committees, and events—are what turn individual expertise into collective impact. Thank you for showing up, sharing your perspectives, and contributing to a community where collaboration fuels progress.

One important milestone to highlight this month is the release of ACT’s Annual Report. The report reflects a year of progress across programs, advocacy, and member engagement. It captures the collective impact of our chapters, councils, committees, and partners, and underscores the value ACT delivers to a growing and increasingly diverse community. We encourage you to take time to review the report and reflect on how your contributions, large and small, help advance our shared goals.

Advocacy also remained front and center this past month, as Public Policy Committee leadership spent time in Washington, DC meeting with Congressional offices to discuss support for the Maximizing Transportation Efficiency Act. These conversations provided an opportunity to elevate the importance of Transportation Demand Management as pragmatic strategies for improving system efficiency and access for all people. You can still lend your voice to this effort by utilizing ACT’s new government affairs platform that makes outreach to your Members of Congress a breeze.  In just 30 seconds, you can reach out to all your elected representatives, using or editing our template email.

Looking ahead, we are preparing for our upcoming Board of Directors meeting in Nashville. This gathering will be an important moment to align on strategic priorities, assess progress, and continue strengthening the connection between board leadership, committees, and the rest of the organization. As always, the board’s work is grounded in supporting ACT’s members and positioning the organization for long‑term impact.  For those you in the Nashville area, I hope you will be able to join us for a social on the evening of April 14.  If you don’t have the invite, let me know.

Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to ACT. We look forward to the conversations, collaboration, and momentum ahead.  Don’t forget to register for this year’s 40th Annual International Conference in Philadelphia, it promises to be a fantastic event, celebrating four decades of learning, networking, and community.
