Executive Director's Report June 2025
Dear Members and Friends,
Summer has officially arrived, blazing in for many of us, and so has the season of opportunities at ACT!
Let’s kick things off with one of the most exciting pieces of news: nominations are open for ACT’s Board of Directors! This is your chance to help shape the future of the association and the broader field of TDM. If you, or someone you know, are passionate about advancing TDM, now’s the time to lean in. Board service is more than a leadership opportunity. It’s a chance to bring your voice, your vision, and your values to the table.
It’s hard to believe that we're just weeks away from ACT's 39th Annual International Conference, happening August 3-6 in New Orleans. With mobility challenges continuing to evolve across every corner of our communities, this is where you’ll find the ideas, the energy, and the people advancing solutions. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned pro, there’s no better place to gain insights, grow your network, develop new partnerships, and recharge your purpose.
If rural TDM is on your mind (and it should be), keep your eyes peeled: ACT’s long-awaited white paper on rural mobility is about to drop. From first-mile challenges to innovative service models, this paper shines a spotlight on the strategies that are working—and what’s next. It’s an important contribution to the growing conversation about how we make TDM work for everyone, everywhere.
This fall, all trails lead to Portland, Oregon for our TDM Forum, October 28-29. Our planning committee has been hard at work pulling together a strong program. Over two days, you’ll explore timely and pressing issues in TDM through four dynamic tracks, each delivering rich content and activities that spotlight the trends, tools, and tactics shaping the future of mobility in our communities. Tracks include:
- TDM at the Main Event: Strategies for Managing Global Spectacles and Hometown Happenings
- Making the Case for TDM: Transforming Perception into Action across Sectors
- Cleared for Connection: TDM Strategies for Airports and Beyond
- Parking Smarter: Utilizing TDM as a Parking Management Tool
Plus, attendees can earn up to 15 TDM-CP credits and enjoy a range of networking opportunities in one of the country’s most progressive transportation cities.
As always, I’m grateful to be part of such a passionate and purpose-driven community. The work we do isn’t easy but it’s meaningful, urgent, and deeply impactful. Whether you're stepping forward into leadership, joining us at an upcoming event, or simply continuing to champion smarter, more efficient ways for people to get where they need to go, you are helping shape a better journey for everyone. Thank you for being part of ACT.
See you in New Orleans!
David
