What is the goal of the program?
ImpACT! Leadership aims to make participants more holistic TDM professionals as well as support their future roles as ACT leaders.
How long is the program?
ImpACT! Leadership is a 10-month program that begins in December 2023 and finishes in September 2024. There is a graduation ceremony in November 2024 during the TDM Forum.
During this time, there are monthly virtual meetings, a three-day, in-person seminar February 4-6, 2024, plus a group project that participants work on between February and September.
What happens during the in-person seminar?
In 2024, ImpACT! Leadership participants will take the CliftonStrengths assessment, and the leadership trainer will use the assessments to guide activities, exercises, and case studies to help participants understand not only their leadership strengths, but also how to use them within teams.
Leadership topics will also be discussed. Previous leadership topics include but are not limited to Emotional Intelligence, Interpersonal Communication Strategies, Effective Negotiations, Your Leadership Approach, and Conflict Management.
There will be opportunities for networking, including a unique team building activity, a reception and luncheon with the Board of Directors, and time to start working on their group projects.
How many people participate in the program each year?
The classes are usually between 15 and 18 people. The small class size provides better networking opportunities, as well as provide safe space for inclusive leadership training.
What do the monthly roundtables look like? Who leads them? Is there homework from the monthly roundtables?
The monthly roundtables are virtual. Each month, a different topic is covered, including but not limited to public policy; funding; TDM and state DOTs; DEI and TDM; compliance and regulations; technology and innovation; and resiliency. Each topic discussion is lead by an industry expert; instructors TBD.
What’s the cost? What is included in the cost?
The ImpACT! Leadership 2024 program fee is $2,250. This includes all the trainings, virtual and in person, as well as the hotel, breakfasts and lunches, team building activities, and a reception for the Anaheim in-person seminar. In addition to these costs, the fee includes one complimentary workshop at the 38th Annual International Conference in Denver, CO, and complimentary registration to the TDM Forum in November 2024 (location TBD).
But that’s not all! Participants also get a $200 discount to the 38th Annual International Conference, and access to a private ImpACT! Leadership community on Connect.
Flights to Anaheim are not included in the fee.

For ImpACT! Leadership 2024, the key dates are:
