About the Role

The TDM Project Manager is an essential part of the TDM + Mobility Management team. The primary function of this role is to manage a portfolio of projects, leading client engagement, program development, marketing, and implementation of various types of real estate-based mobility and transportation demand management strategies. This role will advocate for alternative transportation options (i.e., transit, bike, walk, carpool, carshare, etc.) and support projects across the team in developing meaningful content and campaigns to shift behavior to support sustainable transportation. The TDM Project Manager supports TDM projects to drive strong commuter engagement and increased adoption of alternative modes of transportation. As a senior team member, the individual is also responsible for driving client relationships and supporting business development and may be involved in other corporate initiatives based on strengths and team needs.


Responsibilities
  • Defines each programs’ goals, milestones, audiences, channels, and opportunities based on information provided by clients, available data, and best practices
  • Builds programs, distributing tasks across team members and consultants as appropriate, developing work plans, marketing plans, content, campaigns, incentives, and outreach programs as applicable based on the scope of work and budget
  • Develops content for newsletters, email blasts, targeted campaigns, blogs, websites, social media posts, and survey communications adhering to appropriate branding and editorial guidelines as appropriate
  • Plans, promotes, and executes events to encourage transportation options to residents and/or employees, coordinating with vendors as appropriate to support event engagement
  • Reviews content and design work developed by team members or consultants for accuracy, correctness, and appropriateness of subject matter, providing feedback to support quality control and product improvement
  • Develops, collects, and processes project start-up documentation and determines project team and schedule
  • Assigns project tasks and tracks through completion, following up with the team and providing feedback to team members and managers as appropriate
  • Tracks project budget and profit, reviews project time and expenses, supports client invoicing and accounts receivable, coordinating with the client and internal teams as appropriate
  • Provides transparent documentation to appropriate team members on project status and notification of any project issues
  • Manages a pipeline of business development opportunities, tracking proposals, RFPs, RFQs and other relevant activities, drafting and delivering proposals and materials as appropriate
  • Supports business development through networking events, corporate market teams, research, and relationship development
  • Leads preparation for, hosting of, and follow-up related to internal and external meetings
  • Supports staff and/or intern development through providing training, resources, and feedback as appropriate
  • Functions as an active participant in TDM Team level decision making

Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience in client-focused project management, preferably in the transportation demand management/mobility management sector
  • College degree preferred in urban planning, marketing & communications, sociology, business. Direct ZTDM experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, from relationship and business cultivation through project completion
  • Demonstrated ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Experience and comfort with project budgeting, tracking, and communicating potential issues
  • Experience developing templates and enhancing product quality, leading to improved efficiencies and results
  • Experience developing projects or programs, from concept through completion, thinking strategically about needs and deliverables to achieve the intended outcome(s)
  • Experience analyzing results, including marketing data, and implementing changes to enhance project performance
  • Previous experience with copy writing and editing; an eye for detail and ability to provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Ability to work independently, as well as delegate work effectively through teamwork and provide clear communication, instruction, and feedback across all levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to work and prioritize tasks autonomously, following through on commitments, identifying related tasks or impacts, and meeting deadlines
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

Advanced Skills
  • Previous consulting or agency experience, ideally in a role managing the full cycle of a project, from development through close-out
  • Demonstrated understanding of behavioral science and behavior change theories as they relate to habit formation around the use of sustainable transportation options
  • Demonstrated experience planning, developing, and disseminating content across multiple platforms to promote sustainable mobility options, as well as executing and tracking related campaigns
  • Strong experience with business development, including tracking business opportunities and pipeline, delivering presentations to decision-makers, preparing proposals and responses to RFPs or RFQs, and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Proven understanding of transportation options, programs, and policies within the Washington, DC metropolitan area
  • Experience with Monday.com, Salesforce (CRM), Pardot (content management), and/or Insightly (CRM)
  • Experience with and understanding of the commercial real estate (CRE) industry and development policies related to transportation
  • Comfort with and excitement for public speaking
  • Holds a designation as a Transportation Demand Management Certified Professional (TDM-CP) or a similar certification from a professional organization in the areas of transportation, marketing, or commercial real estate
