SUMMARY: 
The Travel Demand Management Coordinator will define, implement, and coordinate travel demand management (TDM) strategies and programs to meet the transportation mode shift goals in the Integrated Transportation Plan.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reviews draft plans and memoranda for consistency with Comprehensive Plan and ITP objectives and adopted Land Development Regulations; evaluates applicant submitted TDM monitoring reports for compliance with Master Plan agreements.
  • Analyzes traffic count data for various land use zones/uses and compare against ITE and custom Trip Generation rates; collects, warehouses, and analyzes transportation systems data for decision support.
  • Evaluates and documents best practices for Travel Demand Management, including micromobility, first- and last-mile solutions, vanpooling, and commute trip reduction, tailored to the Jackson and Teton County travel markets; creates a TDM strategy, including recommending policies, setting metrics, defining regular program reporting, and conducting assessments.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with consultant teams, stakeholders (including large employers, property managers, organizations, associations, and institutions), and peer agencies to ensure policy compliance, leverage TDM best practices, and maximize mode shift impact while aligning local programmatic efforts to influence trip choice and travel behaviors within Teton County.
  • Delivers or delegates programmatic elements of Pathways programs related to TDM.
  • Ensures TDM program alignment with Teton County climate goals, sustainability programs, and long-range planning efforts through collaboration across departments and divisions, aiming to influence trip choice and travel behaviors within the county.
  • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Associate’s Degree is required; Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or Transportation Planning preferred
    • 1-3 years of experience in implementing transportation demand management strategies and initiatives tailored to a multi-modal environment is required; 3+ years of experience is preferred
    • Or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • Required  Licenses and Certifications: 
    • A valid State driver’s license may be required. Ability/desire to obtain Transportation Demand Management Certified Professional (TDM-CP) a plus but not required.
