About the Role in Transportation Demand & Mobility Management
The TDM Program Coordinator is an essential member of the TDM + Mobility Management team, supporting the development and execution of client-facing outreach, communications, and event-based initiatives. The primary function of this role is to create compelling content across email, social media, web, and print channels while planning and hosting on-site events that promote alternative transportation options and drive behavior change. This role works closely with project managers, clients, vendors, and cross-functional team members to coordinate campaigns, manage digital platforms, support data tracking and reporting, and ensure high-quality client service. As a key contributor, the Coordinator helps strengthen commuter engagement, enhance client satisfaction, and support strategic, integrated transportation programs that advance sustainable mobility goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop content for email, flyers, websites, social media, and other channels
  • Plan events at client sites, including vendor coordination, giveaway and incentive purchases, audience engagement activations or activities, material preparation, and event promotion
  • Host events at client sites, including set-up, audience engagement, and outreach, and breakdown
  • Support promotions and campaigns, including planning, content development, team and vendor coordination, incentives, and reporting
  • Manage project email inboxes and social media accounts, responding to inquiries or engaging with clients/customers as appropriate
  • Participate in individual and team brainstorm sessions to develop and refine content ideas and strategy
  • Research site-specific transportation options and amenities, as well as local and regional transit and transportation news, updates, events, and promotions
  • Input data into proprietary database, including client or customer information, event or incentive data, client compliance and activity data, and survey or trip count data
  • Support client research, including background research, audience research, and review or interpretation of survey results
  • Support improvements to project-related channels (e.g., websites or social media pages), initiatives, and team processes
  • Attend client meetings as appropriate under direction from the project manager
  • Assist Data and Research Analyst and/or traffic engineering staff with trip counts and related coordination as appropriate
  • Prepare, export, and format reports for consumption by the project manager, client, and local Department of Transportation or other stakeholder
  • Correspond with clients in-person, virtually, and over email
  • Support team organization, including file, material, incentive, and giveaway organization and inventory
  • Travel to client sites to deliver materials or incentives, attend events, meet with clients, or conduct site research
  • Deliver project needs on time and prioritize tasks effectively

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field (Urban Planning degrees welcome, but this role is not a planning or design position)
  • Previous experience working in an office environment
  • Demonstrated high touch customer service experience
  • Experience inputting information into a database, preferably CRM software
  • Experience with and interest in developing content for social media, email, print, or other channels
  • Interest and/or experience in planning and executing small- and large-scale events
  • Interest in marketing-driven behavior change, community engagement, campaign strategy, and customer communications within the transportation and mobility space.
  • Interest in the commercial real estate industry and/or the interaction between transportation and land use
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Effective communicator, able to communicate appropriately in-person, virtually, and in writing internally and externally with customers, clients, and with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Desire and ability to learn through hands-on experience
  • Collaborative and adaptive – works well with cross-functional teams and embraces feedback, ambiguity, and evolving or iterative solutions
  • Client-centered – focused on understanding client or stakeholder goals, challenges, and priorities to deliver the right solutions

Advanced Skills

  • Previous outreach or events experience, including interacting and engaging with the public
  • Previous experience with transportation demand management and human travel behavior
  • Previous experience creating reports and forms, designing and disseminating emails, and entering data in Salesforce and/or Pardot
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment, such as a consulting firm or marketing agency
    Strong knowledge of local and regional transportation options within Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, DC region
  • Experience engaging the public through events, campaigns, or digital communications is more important than technical transportation expertise

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $75,000-$85,000.
